The Opportunity

United Fray offers a fellowship to college students or young professionals interested in pursuing a sports management and/or sports administration career. We are looking for fellows who can work at least 20 hours a week with our permitting/admin team during the day.  If you want to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes to make fun possible, then this fellowship is for you!

Fellow Responsibilities

  • Working with the Permit Manager to request and organize permits for sports leagues
  • Connecting with the sports team on daily tasks assigned, such as answering emails, checking voicemails, confirming permits for daily leagues
  • Creating seasonal permit schedules
  • Maintaining the daily flow of the office, including monitoring inventory
  • Assisting with various administrative and accounting tasks

Fellow Qualifications

  • Interested in a career in Sport Management, Human Resource Management, or other related field
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, go-getter attitude
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Experience with Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc..)
  • Proficient in touch typing
  • Able to work in our office located in Northeast DC’s Brentwood/Ivy City neighborhood
  • A positive attitude and strong common sense

Fellow Skills Preferred (Not Required)

  • Customer Service skills
  • Scheduling experience
  • Experience with billing/invoicing
  • Familiar with keyboard shortcuts
  • Ability to create sick Spotify playlists for the office

Compensation/Benefits

  • Scope of Work: 3 days per week (24/hour) for permit + office administration support.
  • Fellow Compensation: $18/hour
  • Additional pay if you host, ref, and/or work certain events during your fellowship;
    • $18/hr Bar Sports (Cornhole, Bocce, Skeeball) / Kickball, Volleyball, Softball
    • $20/hr Basketball, Football, Soccer, Dodgeball, Hockey
  • Free entry to DC Fray leagues and discounted DC Fray event participation;
  • Access to DC Fray staff shirts and gear;
  • Dynamic office environment.
