Richard Steyne is an experienced Programme Manager in the Policy and Research Division at DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance, where responsibilities include project design, implementation, and monitoring aimed at enhancing security sector governance in the post-Soviet region. With a background as Project Officer focusing on Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia, Richard has contributed to significant projects like the reform of the Ukrainian Intelligence Service and capacity-building for civil society organizations in Central Asia. Previous roles include consultancy at the International Committee of the Red Cross for a special report on urban warfare and a traineeship at Small Arms Survey, where Richard assisted in various publications and projects related to small arms and conflict. Richard holds an MSc in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and several diplomas in peacebuilding, security, and Middle Eastern studies.
