Alex Smirnov is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the blockchain and technology sectors. As Co-Founder and Project Lead at deBridge since February 2021, Alex has been instrumental in developing a cross-chain interoperability and liquidity transfer protocol that facilitates decentralized asset transfers across blockchains. Prior to deBridge, Alex founded and served as CEO of Phenom from May 2017 to December 2020, where the focus was on providing secure cold storage solutions for blockchain assets tailored for financial institutions. Alex's earlier role as Head of Research and Development at Navigine from January 2014 to January 2017 involved advancing real-time location systems, particularly in indoor navigation. Additionally, early career work at Moscow State University involved research in the mechanics of cylindrical bodies. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Physics, as well as a specialist degree in Inertial and Indoor Navigation from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
