Jon Sakoda is the Founder of Decibel Partners, an independent venture capital firm launched in October 2018 in collaboration with Cisco, aimed at innovating early-stage investing through a unique blend of agility and deep industry connections. Prior to this, Jon Sakoda served as a General Partner at New Enterprise Associates from September 2006 to September 2018, leading investments in early-stage startups across the B2B software and consumer Internet sectors, managing portfolios that included companies such as MongoDB and Uber. Earlier in Jon Sakoda's career, Jon co-founded IMlogic, a leader in instant messaging security, where Jon held the role of CTO and Co-Founder from June 2001 to September 2006. Jon Sakoda began their professional journey as an analyst in the Private Equity Group at Goldman Sachs from July 1999 to June 2001, focusing on investments in internet, software, and communications. Jon Sakoda holds a BA in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University, awarded in 1999.
