Matthew Lightman

Matthew Lightman is an accomplished machine learning engineer with extensive experience in the tech industry. Currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Deepgram since September 2023, Matthew focuses on enhancing automatic training for speech models and integrating Large Language Models for conversational AI. Previous roles include a Machine Learning Engineer at Meta, where Matthew improved the Instagram Feed Ranking algorithm, and a Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Deepgram, concentrating on developing deep neural network models for audio transcription. Additional experience includes serving as a Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Scientist at Voxel51, leading the vision team, and as a Data Scientist Lead at JPMorgan Chase, where Matthew oversaw personalized machine learning systems. Early career work involved data science roles at American Express and research positions at Washington University in St. Louis and Columbia University.
