The Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) maintains central oversight for travel policy and implementation of commercial travel programs, including travel card management. DTMO also provides travel assistance, customer support, training, and functional oversight of the Defense Travel System (DTS).

Within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, DTMO receives oversight from the Defense Human Resources Activity and is a directorate of the Defense Support Services Center.
