Richard Walton

Richard Walton currently serves as the Head of the Water Infrastructure Planning & Delivery Unit at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, focusing on Strategic Water Policies since March 2023. Prior to this role, Richard was the Service Transition Manager at NS&I, where responsibilities included enhancing the digital customer experience between February 2022 and February 2023. Richard's experience also encompasses a role as Senior Policy Lead at the UK Health Security Agency, contributing to government initiatives related to self-isolation support. Richard's earlier positions include Senior Operations Manager at Computershare UK, where management encompassed significant customer service operations, and Remediation Manager at UKAR, addressing systemic issues in mortgage servicing. Richard began a career in Northern Rock, progressing through various management roles, including Redemptions Manager and New Loans Manager, after starting as a Graduate Management Trainee. Richard holds a BA in Human Geography from Lancaster University and a Diploma in Management Studies from Northumbria University, complemented by further education at Henley Business School.
