Georgios Smaragdakis

Georgios Smaragdakis is a Professor of Computer Science at Technische Universiteit Delft, where Georgios serves as Chair and Section Head of Cybersecurity in the Department of Intelligent Systems. As an associated researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics since December 2019 and a Principal Investigator at BIFOLD since February 2017, Smaragdakis focuses on Internet Analytics, Security, and Big Data Analytics. Previously, Smaragdakis held a professorship at Technische Universität Berlin and a Marie Curie Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With extensive experience ranging from strategic roles at Deutsche Telekom Laboratories to research collaborations with Akamai Technologies, Smaragdakis has made significant contributions to Internet Measurement, Security, Web Privacy, and Content Delivery. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from Boston University and a Diploma in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete.
