Mathieu Gielen

Mathieu Gielen is a seasoned researcher and lecturer at Delft University of Technology, specializing in Design for Children's Play since September 2000. Gielen's work focuses on inspiring designers through insights from children while creating innovative and meaningful play experiences. Previously, Gielen contributed as a game developer at Sixeye from January 2010 to October 2018, where responsibilities included brainstorming and designing game concepts for children and families. Additionally, Gielen served as a designer of playful products and landscapes at de Wolkenrijders from October 1996 to October 2018, crafting a variety of play-focused products for various sectors including industry and local governments. Gielen holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Design from Delft University of Technology, earned between 1988 and 1994.
