Prior to this role, Bruno held the position of Gewestelijk Secretaris at ABVV - Algemene Centrale from 1989 to 2004 and worked as Coordinator Interprofessionele Werk during the period from December 1984 to September 1988 at ABVV Oostende-Veurne-Diksmuide. Bruno's educational background includes a degree from Ghent University, earned between 1973 and 1979.
