Thomas Hoornaert has gained extensive experience in the field of engineering, specifically focusing on offshore renewables. At DEME Group, Thomas holds the position of Project Engineer for Offshore Renewables, where Thomas has been working since October 2014. Prior to this, Thomas completed an internship for their master thesis at ABB in 2014, focusing on Techno-Economic Analysis of Low Frequency Offshore Transmission Systems and receiving the Laureate Encon Energy Prize. Thomas also completed a summer internship at Eriks in 2012, where Thomas worked on the design of an industrial blender, and an internship at Philips Lighting in 2011-2012, focusing on the analysis of an induction heating based sealing process.
