Jiwoo Son is a UX Designer at DemocracyLab since April 2022, contributing as a volunteer to enhance tech innovation within the nonprofit sector. Previously, Jiwoo held the position of Sous Chef at Terroni from August 2016 to August 2020 and worked as a Translator at SBS from March 2014 to March 2016. Jiwoo's career began in the arts as a Fine Artist while self-employed from September 2004 to February 2014. Educationally, Jiwoo earned an Associate's degree in UX Design from the UX Design Institute (2021-2022), a degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from George Brown College (2016-2017), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Dongduk Women's University (2004-2009).

DemocracyLab
DemocracyLab is a nonprofit organization that has created an open-source platform connecting stakeholders in civic technology. Our initial product seeks to optimize the connection between skilled volunteers and technology projects that advance the public good. Later iterations will focus on the needs of donors, citizens, and institutions. The intended result is that the efficient flow of information and allocation of resources that our platform facilitates will accelerate the evolution of new civic innovations capable of addressing many of society's significant challenges.
