Matt Buckingham is an experienced UX Designer and Lead Researcher at DemocracyLab since September 2021, with a background in development, design, and research from both freelance work and various positions at established companies. Prior roles include Senior Full Stack Developer at buzrbeatr, Front End Developer at Skedules, and Jr. Full Stack Developer at Launch Academy, Inc. Additionally, Matt served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the North Shore Generals, where responsibilities included managing sponsor relations and marketing strategies. Early experience includes a role as camp counselor and work-study within the athletic department at Rivier University. Matt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and has pursued additional education through Springboard, Launch Academy, and freeCodeCamp.

DemocracyLab
DemocracyLab is a nonprofit organization that has created an open-source platform connecting stakeholders in civic technology. Our initial product seeks to optimize the connection between skilled volunteers and technology projects that advance the public good. Later iterations will focus on the needs of donors, citizens, and institutions. The intended result is that the efficient flow of information and allocation of resources that our platform facilitates will accelerate the evolution of new civic innovations capable of addressing many of society's significant challenges.
