Allison Byrd Skaer is an experienced horticultural professional with a strong track record in leadership and program management within botanical and educational settings. Currently serving as the Curator of Horticulture at the Denver Zoological Foundation since October 2021, Allison previously held the position of Director of Horticulture at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens and has managed various horticultural operations at institutions such as the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Horticultural Biology from Cornell University, a Master's degree in Career and Technical Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, both from Virginia Tech. Allison's expertise encompasses budget management, program development, and relationship building with partners in the horticulture and education sectors.
