Senior Director Of Wildlife Health & Conservation at Denver Zoo

Jimmy Johnson, DVM, MS, CertAqV, DACZM, currently serves as the Senior Director of Animal Health at the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance, where responsibilities include overseeing the Animal Health Department and leading various institutional programs related to veterinary medicine, conservation, and education. In addition to this role, Jimmy acts as an Associate Consulting Veterinarian for Living Exhibits Incorporated, focusing on elasmobranch clinical care, and holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, mentoring students in aquatic animal health. Previous experience includes roles as Staff Veterinarian at the Saint Louis Zoo and Zoo Miami, Associate Veterinarian at Zoo Miami, and a significant tenure at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, among others. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Veterinary Clinical Medicine from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
