James Cheatham

James Cheatham, PMP, currently serves as the IT Director for Family and Community Services at the Florida Department of Children and Families since December 2022. Previously, James held the positions of Deputy Chief of Service Experience and Senior Solutions Designer at Florida Digital Service. With extensive experience at the Florida Department of Children and Families from 2003 to 2021, James contributed as Chief Innovation Officer and managed various roles focused on child welfare research, implementation initiatives, performance management, and hotline oversight. In earlier professional roles, James served as General Manager at Scholastic Book Fairs and District Manager at Blockbuster Entertainment, emphasizing management, training, and operational efficiency. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Florida State University and an Associate of Arts from Tallahassee State College.
