Howard Gruenspecht serves as the Deputy Administrator at the Energy Information Administration since March 2003 and has held the same title at the U.S. Department of Energy since 2003. Prior to these roles, Howard was a Resident Scholar at Resources for the Future from August 2000 to March 2003 and directed the Office of Economic, Electricity, and Natural Gas Analysis at the U.S. Department of Energy from May 1993 to August 2000. Howard Gruenspecht holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University, earned between 1975 and 1982, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McGill University, obtained from 1972 to 1975.
