Virgil Hobbs

Virgil Hobbs currently holds the position of Administrator and Chief Executive Officer at the Southeastern Power Administration (SEPA) within the U.S. Department of Energy, leading efforts to market over 3,200 megawatts of Federal hydroelectric capacity to 473 rural electric cooperatives and municipal customers across multiple states. Hobbs previously served as Assistant Administrator for the Finance & Marketing Division at SEPA, acting as Chief Financial Officer and overseeing a range of responsibilities including budget development and renewable energy programs. Prior experience includes nearly two decades as an Operations Project Manager at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as four years as a Surface Line Officer in the U.S. Navy, managing engineering divisions for power generation. Hobbs earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Citadel.
