Tyson Tuala

Tyson Tuala is a seasoned professional with diverse experience in engagement, communications, and cultural consultancy. Currently serving as a Senior Engagement and Communications Officer at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria since September 2023, Tyson also holds the position of President at Nga Matai Purua Inc and is the Founder of Melbourne Cultural Consultants. Additionally, Tyson works as a Training Facilitator for Non Profit Training and a Cultural Consultant for Essence Theatre Productions. Past roles include serving as Programs & Services Manager for Dja Dja Wurrung Enterprises Pty Ltd, Project Officer for the Stolen Generations Reparations Unit, and Cultural Consultant for both Arts Centre Melbourne and the Melbourne New Zealand Football Club. Tyson's background includes a multicultural youth worker role at the Centre for Multicultural Youth. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Māori Performing Arts at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, Tyson has also studied at Victoria University of Wellington.
