Lisa Kenna is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service of the United States. She is currently the Executive Secretary in the Office of the Secretary, a position she has held since June 2017. Previously, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Secretary. She has served overseas in Amman, Cairo, and Peshawar. Domestically, she has worked in the Office of the Secretary, the National Security Council, and at the Department of Defense.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service, she worked as a lawyer in New Haven, Connecticut.
Lisa holds a BA from Middlebury College and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut. She speaks Arabic, Persian, and Urdu.
