The vision of of the Des Plaines Children’s Museum (DPCM) is to build community and connections through play. It stems from the sentiment of Des Plaines community members. This museum is about Des Plaines, by local people, and for all. It will showcase our community to connect and encourage people to learn, grow, and engage.

DPCM’s mission is to provide themed, interactive exhibits based on the people and place of Des Plaines that inspire and excite children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to be engaged citizens of their local communities and influence our broader world.

As a family-friendly daytime attraction, DPCM aims to serve as an anchor for downtown Des Plaines, encouraging families to support other local businesses on their way in or out of our museum.
