Amanda Keen-Zebert, PhD, MBA, serves as the Interim Director of Research Operations and Professor at the Desert Research Institute since July 2013. In addition to these roles, Amanda has held positions as Associate Professor, Deputy Director of the Division of Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, and Faculty Senate Chair at the same institution. Amanda is a Program Director for Geomorphology and Land Use Dynamics at the National Science Foundation from November 2021 to October 2024. Previous academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Murray State University and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aberystwyth University. Amanda's educational background includes a PhD in Environmental Geography from Texas State University, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master’s degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Arkansas, and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the same university.
