Dirk Mertens has over 20 years of work experience in various roles. Dirk currently serves as the CPO & Head of Technical Department at DESOTEC since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Huntsman Corporation from 2017 to 2022, holding positions such as Senior Director Procurement, European Purchasing Lead Director, Purchasing Director Raw Materials Polyurethanes EUMEA, and Senior Purchasing Manager Raw Materials PU EMEA. Before joining Huntsman Corporation, Mertens held roles at Oleon, BlueNubes, Geveke Process Technology, and Den Nayer Instituut.
Dirk Mertens began their education in 1998 by enrolling at LUCA School of Arts. Dirk pursued a degree in Chemical Process Technology and successfully completed their studies in 2002. In 2007, Dirk attended the Vlerick Business School, where they participated in the Young Management Program. During this program, they focused on Strategic B-2-B Marketing.
