Laura Orme

Laura Orme is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in fundraising, membership, and event management. Currently serving as the Director of Annual Giving, Membership, and Events at the Detroit Institute of Arts since August 2019, Laura has also been the Lead Consultant and owner of Newberry Group since 2010, providing consultancy services to non-profits. Previously, Laura held significant positions including Director of Philanthropy at Wayne State University from January 2013 to July 2019, Director of Marketing & Development at Easter Seals, Chief Development Officer at Lighthouse of Oakland County, and Major Gifts Specialist at Henry Ford Health System. Laura's early career includes impactful roles such as Agency Relations Manager at St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center and Fund Raising and Financial Manager at NCCJ. Laura holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and a BA in Business and Fine Art from Adrian College.
