Mallet James is a data scientist currently working with the Detroit Pistons since June 2022. Prior to this role, Mallet served as an AI/ML engineer at PPG Industries from May 2019 to June 2022, and also gained experience as a data science intern. Mallet held the position of president of the Penn State Sports Analytics Club from September 2019 to May 2021 and was the analytics manager for the Penn State Men's Basketball team during the 2020-2021 season. Mallet James obtained a Bachelor's degree in Data Science from Penn State University, graduating in 2021, and completed high school at Danville Area High School from 2013 to 2017.
