Nia Heaston

Nia Heaston currently serves as a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Intern with the Detroit Pistons since June 2023 and as an Inclusion Leader at Woods & Watts Effect since October 2022, specializing in educating organizations on the significance of diversity and racial equity. Prior experience includes a paid internship as a Recruiting HR Intern at Kapstone Employment Services from August 2021 to February 2023, where Nia supported recruitment efforts and administrative tasks, and coaching roles with the Sound Mind Sound Body Foundation and First Tee, focusing on developing young golfers' skills. Nia participated in a prestigious Leadership Development Program at Wayne State University, sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Academic background includes general studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, building on a foundational education from Renaissance High School, graduated in 2021.
