Michael Stig

Michael Stig has over two decades of experience in the maritime industry, currently serving as the Director and Head of Marine Standards at DFDS since February 2000. In this role, Michael oversees crucial areas such as ISM and ISPS audits, safety management systems, and compliance with maritime regulations. Previously held positions include Marine Superintendent and Deck Officer/Chief Officer on various ro/ro vessels. Michael's career began in the Royal Danish Navy as an officer, followed by a role as a cadet with J. Lauritzen A/S. Michael holds a Master Mariner degree from Fanø Nautical College and has completed multiple advanced training courses related to maritime safety, security, and technical drawing in Autocad.
