Director Of Resident Services & Family Self-sufficiency at DHA

Dr. Priscylla Bento currently serves as the Director of Resident Services at DHA, where responsibilities include establishing and implementing services aimed at enhancing resident support through economic and community development initiatives. Dr. Bento has been an Adjunct Professor in Political Science at UNT Dallas since 2016 and teaches Government courses at DCCCD, focusing on both federal and Texas government systems. Previous roles include Equity Officer, Policy Manager, Elections Manager, and Open Records Coordinator for the City of Dallas, along with community outreach and research management for the North Texas Regional Housing Assessment. Dr. Bento's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy, an MA in Public Administration, and dual BA degrees in History & Political Science and French from The University of Texas at Arlington.

DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas provides quality, affordable housing and supportive services to low-income families and individuals through the effective and efficient administration of housing assistance programs across seven North Texas counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall, and Tarrant. The agency aims to create opportunities for participants to achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence. DHA provides housing opportunities to 55,700 people through its housing programs. DHA is the 8th largest Housing Choice Voucher program in the nation and the 10th largest public housing agency in the nation.
