Sharif Ahmed

Sharif Ahmed is a Principal Scientist at Diamond Light Source since April 2018, with extensive experience in scientific research and development, including roles as a Beamline Scientist and Visiting Academic at the University of Southampton. Prior positions include Research and Development Engineer at Luxfer Gas Cylinders, where Sharif developed non-destructive imaging methods, and Research Scientist at Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies, where Sharif authored a scientific article on 4D X-ray CT and won various accolades for research contributions. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. in Mechanics of Granular Media from the University of Southampton, Sharif exhibits a robust skill set in imaging technologies and engineering, complemented by freelance photography experience and teaching roles.
