Steven McAuslan started their career with Digital Barriers in 2014 as an Intern where they assisted the test engineering team and was responsible for resolving customer support queries. Later in 2015, they were promoted to the role of Test Engineer, where they tested client software across different platforms. In 2018, they were appointed as a Support Engineer and became Digital Barriers' main point of contact for customer support issues and hardware returns. Overall, McAuslan's work experience at Digital Barriers involved testing client software, resolving customer support queries, and troubleshooting hardware returns.

Steven McAuslan earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics & Physics at the University of Strathclyde from 2011-2015. In addition to their degree, they also obtained two certifications: ITIL Foundation Level from PeopleCert in July 2022, and ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in September 2015.
