Munir Chowdhury

Munir is an experienced technology leader with more than 20 years’ experience in digital and cellular communication; IoT, R&D digital transformation, and technology incubation. At the Digital Catapult, he leads the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, building capabilities, opportunities for business growth through collaboration and innovation, and supporting business transformations through IoT and emerging technologies.

Having started a career as an engineer at Motorola, Munir’s career spans start-ups to blue chips. Prior to Digital Catapult, he led the EMEA IoT activities within the Digital Accelerator unit at Stanley Black & Decker; evangelising the case for IoT and supporting the incubation of new businesses with the business. Frequenting conferences and events as a speaker, Munir is a thought leader in the Industrial IoT space. He has also served on committees of the GSMA and BSI promoting standards and best practices.

Munir is an alumnus of the University of Glasgow from where he holds multiple degrees including his PhD. and Leicester University where he read MBA. Munir is also a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
