Carl Smith

Carl Smith is an experienced programme and project manager with a strong background in IT and data centre management. Currently serving as a Data Centre Migration Programme Manager at Direct Line Group since June 2015, Carl oversees the migration of desktop services to new data centres and identifies partners for cloud outsourcing, successfully securing funding and proposing cost-saving strategies. Previous roles at Direct Line Group included managing application migration during a significant separation programme and maintaining crucial relationships between technical teams and business stakeholders. At Fidelity Worldwide Investment, Carl led a data centre recovery programme and collaborated with technology teams to enhance infrastructure resilience. Additional experience at Fidelity International involved managing web server improvements and developing compliance systems, alongside foundational IT roles at Weidmuller Ltd. spanning application development to server deployment.
