Byron Young

Byron Young has extensive experience in engineering leadership, currently serving as Director of Engineering at Discord since January 2019, following a progression from Senior Engineering Manager to Engineering Manager. Previously, Byron held the role of Engineering Manager at AdRoll from July 2012 to September 2018, managing diverse teams and significant projects, including dynamic product recommendation ads and GDPR compliance initiatives. Byron started in the tech industry at Expedia as a Software Development Engineer II, contributing to the development of mobile websites and APIs for travel booking. Earlier, Byron worked at Riverbed Technology as a Tools Developer, creating internal web applications and infrastructure to support engineering operations, and began the career as a QA Engineer. Byron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, obtained in 2005.
