Shay Dewael

Shay DeWael is a Senior Developer Advocate at Discord since February 2022, with prior experience as a Senior Developer Advocate and Developer Advocate at Slack from March 2018 to August 2021. Shay began as an Associate Developer Advocate at Slack and completed an internship as a Developer Advocate Intern at the same company in 2017. Academic contributions include serving as an Undergraduate Lecturer in CS 190 at Purdue University, where Shay led a team to instruct 500 freshmen in UNIX and related tools. Internship experiences include full-stack development roles at Rival IQ and Formstack, focusing on Javascript microservices and an AngularJS front-end, respectively. Shay holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University, attained in 2018, and completed the Core 40 Honors program at Mt. Vernon High School.
