Brindha Muniappan

Senior Director of the Museum Experience at Discovery Museum

Brindha Muniappan is an accomplished professional in museum education and public engagement, currently serving as the Senior Director of the Museum Experience at Discovery Museum since May 2019. Muniappan holds several board membership positions, including the Association of Children's Museums, New England Museum Association, and ChopChop Family, the latter being endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and a winner of the James Beard Foundation Award. Muniappan's prior experience includes directing education and public programs at the MIT Museum, where initiatives focused on inclusivity and local community engagement, as well as contributing to Museum of Science, Boston, as an Education Associate. With a strong educational background including an S.B. in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. in Genetic Toxicology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Muniappan combines expertise in science and education to enhance the museum experience.

Discovery Museum

Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum for families that blends science, nature, and play. The museum and its Discovery Woods accessible outdoor nature playscape and 550 sf treehouse blend the best of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) learning on a beautiful 4.5 acre campus in Acton, MA. Originally founded in 1982, the museum re-opened in 2018 after a complete renovation and expansion.
