Overview:
We are seeking a skilled founding level engineer to join our in-person team. We have a tremendous opportunity to deliver a groundbreaking product to our customers and are looking for leaders to help us meet demand.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will be deeply involved in the development of our platform and user experience based on and informing development of our innovative algorithmic approaches to real time signal processing and situational awareness. This is a pivotal role in the evolution of our products.
We’re looking for someone excited to be one of the first hires at a startup who is ready to grow with us and dive into a novel and deeply technical field.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the user-facing engineering team at DS
- Collaborate with other engineering leadership to design performant data streaming and data aggregation systems
- Implement features across the stack including real-time statistical methods, database management, data streaming, backend APIs, and UI elements / optimizations
- Assume technical leadership of new projects
- Engage with designers, data scientists, and embedded software engineers at Distributed Spectrum to create a cohesive product offering
- Engage with customers to determine product requirements and incorporate feedback
Requirements:
- Experience building web-based systems designed for speed and scale
- Able to translate customer requirements into system design and UX
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and React
- Expertise with Linux
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Eligible for United States Security Clearance
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with C/C++ and/or Go
- Familiarity with embedded systems and edge computing
- Familiarity with distributed systems architectures
- Familiarity with numerical computing and optimization techniques
