Ken Czech's earlier roles include Vice President, Strategic Product Development & Innovation at Lightolier from June 2007 to October 2010, General Manager, Specification Downlighting from May 2003 to June 2007, Marketing Manager, Downlighting from January 2001 to May 2003, and Product Manager, Calculite from May 1999 to January 2001. Ken began their career at Cooper Lighting as Senior Project Engineer, Iris Team from April 1995 to September 1997 and later served as Product Development Manager, Iris Lighting Systems from September 1997 to May 1999.

Ken Czech obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during the period of 1986 to 1990.
