Huw Thomas is a board member at Dollarama and has held various positions at different companies throughout their career. Huw started off as VP finance at Silcom Manufacturing from 1989 to 1991. Huw then became VP finance at Southam Printing and Southam Business Communications from 1991 to 1996. After that, they became EVP, Financial Strategy & Performance, CFO, VP Finance at Canadian Tire Corporation from 1996 to 2010. In 2011, they became chairman of the Risk Oversight and Governance Board at the Canadian Institute of CA's until 2015. From 2012 to 2013, they were the chairman of the board and audit committee chairman at KP Tissue. Huw Thomas has been nominated for Canada's CFO of the year four times and is considered one of Canada's most respected public company CFO's.
Huw Thomas studied economics at Queen Mary University of London, where they obtained a BSc in the subject.
