Surendra Bajagain

Surendra Bajagain is a PhD intern at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, focusing on simulating, modeling, and analyzing distribution grids with flexibility from grid-edge systems since June 2023. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Washington State University since January 2019, Bajagain has engaged in various research activities including distribution system modeling, topology estimation, outage detection, state estimation, and statistical analysis. Previous experience includes roles as an Engineering Intern at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories and an Electrical Technician at Muth Electric, Inc., along with earlier positions in academia as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Bajagain's technical skills encompass software such as OpenDSS, MATLAB, and SIMULINK, and educational credentials include a current PhD in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, a Master’s Degree from South Dakota State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Pulchowk Engineering Campus, Tribhuvan University.
