James Edwards

SVP, Pulp & Paper, Operations at Domtar

James (Bill) Edwards, Senior Vice President, Pulp and Paper Operations, has been with Domtar since 1996.

Mr. Edwards has over 30 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry and he is responsible for all pulp and paper manufacturing, converting operations, and optimization efforts at Domtar’s mills and plants. His organization is also responsible for Domtar’s safety, quality, continuous improvement, engineering, and innovation teams. Previously he served as vice president of Paper manufacturing.

In addition, Mr. Edwards has also held a variety of mill and corporate positions including vice president of Domtar’s Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Services team, general manager of Domtar’s Bennettsville, South Carolina, paper mill, operations manager, linerboard and fluff pulp manager, and recycled linerboard superintendent.

Mr. Edwards received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He currently serves on the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement Board of Governors and on Western Michigan University’s Board of Trustees for their Paper Technology Foundation. He was inducted into the Couch Pit Pulp & Paper Society in 2015, and he received the 2012 TAPPI PIMA Ray H. Cross award for his contribution to community service. Mr. Edwards was recognized in 2011 as South Carolina Economic Ambassador of the Year for Marlboro County and was a board member for the Marlboro County Economic Development Partnership for many years.
