Steve Hummel has a diverse range of work experience in the technology and energy sectors. Steve began their career as the VP of Advanced Technology at Nanometrics, where they managed R&D activities and led innovation teams. Steve then joined PV Powered as the VP of Engineering, helping grow the company into a major supplier of solar inverters. Following this, they served as the VP of RD&E at Advanced Energy, overseeing research, development, and engineering of renewable energy products. Steve then took a sabbatical before joining OnDemand.Energy as the Chief Technology Officer, where they focused on energy storage projects. Steve later became the Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director at Storage + Solar Systems - S3 LLC, where they played a key role in the development and optimization of energy storage solutions. Steve also worked as the Interim CTO and Interim Execs RED Team Leader at InterimExecs. Steve served as a Principal at Saddleback Advisors and a Member of the Board of Advisors at Blue Planet Energy Systems, LLC. Currently, Steve is the Chief Technology Officer at Doosan GridTech, where they lead the integration of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage and Solar Systems. With their extensive experience and expertise, Steve has made significant contributions to the renewable energy industry.
Steve Hummel earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Electrophysics from the University of Southern California, from 1987 to 1993. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, specializing in the same field, from 1983 to 1986. Steve'searlier education includes a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, obtained from Rutgers University between 1976 and 1980.
