Business Unit Director at Dover Motion

Mark Wilson has extensive work experience in various roles and companies.

Mark started their career as a Manufacturing Engineer at United Plastics Group in October 1997. Mark then progressed to become a Program Manager, where they managed product design and build programs, achieving 100% on-time delivery and overseeing sales of over $7 million.

From there, Mark became an Assembly Manager, supervising and coordinating up to 40 employees and increasing productivity through cell layout redesign and improved manufacturing practices.

Mark later took on the role of Operations Manager at United Plastics Group, providing organizational leadership for a $13 million per year contract manufacturing operation. Mark achieved targeted gross margins and operating profits despite a sales decline and improved on-time delivery from 85% to over 96% through the implementation of a visual production scheduling system.

In November 2004, Mark joined Dover Motion as a Danaher Business System Leader. Mark facilitated the re-introduction of the Danaher Business System and led the implementation of Lean Conversion within the company.

Mark continued to progress within Dover Motion, taking on the role of Operations Manager, where they were responsible for a multi-million dollar operation and implemented Lean Conversion practices.

Mark then became a Segment Manager, where they successfully grew segment revenue by multi-million dollars, generated new opportunities through large account management, and won back business through the development of innovative products.

Mark's next role at Dover Motion was Sales & Marketing Manager, where they were responsible for customer service, inside sales, outside sales, and field service functions. Mark negotiated and executed patent licensing and manufacturing supply agreements and directed demand generation and lead qualification activities.

Most recently, Mark held the position of Director, Commercial Operations at Dover Motion, managing the proposals process, collaborating with various teams, and converting proposals into orders.

In April 2019, Mark was promoted to Senior Director, Commercial Operations at Dover Motion, where they continue to lead and manage commercial operations.

Mark Wilson earned a Masters in Business Administration from Western New England University, studying from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Manufacturing Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, completing their studies from 1990 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Mark also holds a certification as a Certified Trainer in Problem Solving from the Danaher Corporation.
