Eli Benson

Eli Benson is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in American Government and Politics and Law, Politics, and Society at Drake University, expected to graduate in May 2026. Eli serves as a Communications Intern for Rob Sand for Iowa and an Organizing Intern for the Iowa Democratic Party, while also fulfilling the role of President of the Drake University Interfraternity Council and Student Alumni Association. Previous experience includes serving as a Legislative Clerk for the Iowa House Democrats, an Events Intern at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and a runner and stand-in for CNN during a Republican Presidential Debate. Eli's background also includes customer service and operations as a Meat Clerk at Hy-Vee, Inc., and providing civil legal aid through AmeriCorps' Illinois JusticeCorps program. Additional involvement in leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement is demonstrated through participation in the Changemaker Scholar program.
