David Smirnov

David Smirnov is a Senior Sensor Electronics Engineer at Draper, recognized for a nomination for the Rookie of the Year Award 2024 while leading a successful engineering team on a multi-million-dollar project. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Johnson & Johnson, where David improved system resilience and optimized performance through advanced troubleshooting, and at Stryker, where electrical subsystems for a portable CT machine were developed. David also contributed to medical device development at DEKA Research & Development, enhanced electromagnetic compatibility projects at Siemens Healthineers, and supported electrical engineering education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
