Steven Spera

Teaching Artist - (video Game Developement) at DreamYard Project

Steven Spera is an experienced educator and creative professional with a strong background in mathematics and the arts. Currently, Steven serves as a Teaching Artist at DreamYard Project, where instruction in video game development is provided to high school juniors and seniors, focusing on the creation of a virtual Bronx Festival. Additionally, since September 2015, Steven has been teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry through a creative lens at the NYC Department of Education, fostering a love of math in students. Previously, Steven held the role of Director of Youth Theater at Kids for Kids Productions from September 2013 to July 2015 and co-founded The Survivalists - Theatre of the Fittest, serving as Director of Branding and Marketing from March 2013 to 2015. Steven earned a Master of Education in Mathematics from St. John's University in 2017 and a BFA in Theater Arts from Hofstra University in 2010.
