Jeff McCreary has a diverse work experience in the field of conservation. Jeff started their career as the Director of Conservation Programs at Ducks Unlimited in 1999, where they oversaw the organization's on-the-ground conservation efforts in nine western states. Jeff also supported DU's Volunteer Leadership, Fundraising, and Public Policy teams. In December 2020, they transitioned to the role of Director of Operations for the Western Region at Ducks Unlimited, continuing their dedication to conservation. In 2014, they served as a Fellow in Cohort 9 at the National Conservation Leadership Institute.

Jeff McCreary began their education at Petaluma High School from 1987 to 1991. After graduating from high school, they attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1991 to 1993, where they studied Environmental Studies. Jeff then transferred to the University of California, Davis, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from 1993 to 1996. Following their undergraduate studies, Jeff pursued further education at Duke University, earning a Master's degree in Environmental Resource Management from 1996 to 1998.
