Melanie Chen is currently working at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking Analyst since June 2022. Prior to this, she had experience as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at the same company. Apart from her finance roles, she holds leadership positions at Duke Association for Business Oriented Women, serving as the VP of Professional Development, Community Engagement Chair, and Membership Chair. She is also a General Body Member for various organizations. Melanie has been involved in various research projects at Duke University, including a year-long Bass Connections research program focused on dream content related to COVID-19. She is a driven individual with a strong background in psychology, statistics, and finance.

The Duke Association for Business Oriented Women seeks to empower business oriented female students by promoting education, experience, and exchange between interested students and outstanding industry professionals. We serve to motivate and prepare young women in the Duke University community for careers in all types of business; be it advertising, consulting, finance, marketing, or public relations. Duke BOW strives to accomplish this goal through student-led forums, skill-building workshops, and various guest speaker events that exemplify the triumphs of professional women. Such activities enable Duke women to guide their personal and professional development and prepare them for the diverse career opportunities awaiting them in the business world.
