Marlene Olsavsky

Marlene Olsavsky currently serves as the Managing Director for Canada at Duolingo, beginning in April 2024. Previously, Olsavsky held multiple leadership roles at Pearson from June 1996 to February 2024, including Managing Director of Higher Education, International, where operational restructuring led to improved profitability and a focus on growth segments, managing a $275M P&L with a global workforce of 650 employees. Olsavsky also excelled in directing a diverse portfolio of businesses to achieve significant revenue growth and accelerate digital transformation, consistently exceeding profit targets. Olsavsky's earlier positions at Pearson encompassed roles in marketing and sales that drove substantial revenue increases and established market leadership in various educational segments. Olsavsky earned a Leadership Development Certificate from Hult Ashridge Executive Education and holds a degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
