Jazmin Garcia Smith

Jazmin Garcia Smith serves as the Senior Dean of College Counseling and Diversity, Equity, and Engagement Coordinator at Durham Academy since August 2015. Previously, Jazmin held the position of Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from June 2010 to July 2015, where responsibilities included leading a team of admissions officers, managing the campus visit experience for over 60,000 visitors annually, evaluating approximately 2,000 applications each year, overseeing a $90,000 budget, and counseling prospective students and parents. Additional experience includes serving as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Admissions Counselor at the University of Notre Dame from June 2004 to August 2006. Jazmin holds a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, awarded from 2006 to 2009, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Notre Dame, earned from 2000 to 2004.
