Mark Erlich

Senior Expert on eID at e-Governance Academy

Mark Erlich is a Senior Expert on eID at the e-Governance Academy. He has more than 15 years of experience with electronic identity, whereas he has been helping the Estonian Government to build a sustainable and secure eID solution for more than ten years. Since 2010, Mark has been the key person in eID management at the Estonian Information System Authority. Among many duties, Mark has been contributing as PKI Area Manager, Head of eID Department and lately, as eID Business Architect.

Mark’s strengths are knowledge of technology, building interoperability solutions and governing the big picture. For the past eight years, he has been strongly involved in eIDAS (EU interoperability regulation in eID and trust service area) workgroups at the EU level and also in the implementation of the regulation at the national level.

Mark has taken part in many international projects as a consultant and external expert on eID. His knowledge has helped many countries like Mongolia, Cabo Verde, Tunisia and Ukraine to find their path to eID development and implementation.

Mark graduated from Dalarna University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
